FED: Aussie athletes not at risk after 'terror' arrests: AOC

Australian Olympic officials say they have full confidence in China's ability to protect
our athletes at the Beijing Games.

Australian Olympic Committee president JOHN COATES says despite 45 suspected terrorists
being arrested in China overnight .. there's no known security threat to the Australian
team.

He says Australia's always had full confidence in China being able to provide a safe
Games for our athletes.

Chinese authorities say they've foiled plots to carry out suicide bomb attacks and
kidnap athletes during the Games.

Mr COATES says the AOC is constantly updated by Foreign Affairs on security measures
in Beijing .. and is liaising with the Australian Embassy.
