Fed: Latham says Howard's ideas are stale

CANBERRA, Feb 5 AAP - Prime Minister John Howard has been in politics so long his ideas
are stale, Opposition Leader Mark Latham said today.

Mr Howard, who turns 65 this year, has said he does not believe his age will be a factor
when voters decide between him and 42-year-old Mr Latham at the federal election later
this year.

He said the public would vote for the person who could best lead the country.

Mr Latham today said Mr Howard's age would not be an issue at the election, but his
lack of new ideas should.
